No Shortcuts to Happiness

I had strived hard to pursue happiness in 2015 and had tried many a thing to that effect till last year. I looked for shortcuts to happiness and found an array of things that would supposedly help. I was frustrated with so many things in life, my weight, my unpohotographable face and other little things that would make you laugh if I share with you today.
It was in December last year that I finally realized what had been wrong. As I sat by the windowsill last Christmas evening watching the remarkable calm of the usually busy roads from my third floor apartment while sipping hot coffee, I watched a little girl walking by with an old man. A bespectacled figure with a walking stick and a bent back, yet full of glee the old man was.
In the long winding road that we call life, we often forget that true happiness lies in leisure and being at peace with yourself. There really are no shortcuts to happiness but to find time to be with those to call your own. 2016 is going to be a year of No Jugaad, No Shortcuts, especially none towards staying happy.

I decided to overcome the things that would drive me mad and make peace with myself.

I am “unphotographable” but I don’t mind it these days. I have in fact become quite a poser and a self proclaimed selfie queen!
This is me with my mom in Bangalore!

True Blue selfie queen aren’t I?

I have decided not to obsess about my weight but my fitness and I believe in funexercising (a term I have invented to describe really fun exercises)
Never giving up the simple joys of life like a little ice candy that would cheer me up to no end as a child

Not being a shopaholic but picking up small things that make me happy

In 2016, I am going to make more time to spend with my siblings, my parents, and friends, not to forget the little darlings who play Hide-&-Seek in the neighbourhood. After all, what is life that is spent for one’s own self? True joy and happiness lies in the times we spend with those who we call our own. For long term happiness one needs to invest in time and in creating sweet memories.

And just as one needs to invest in long term happiness once also needs to invest in long term financial security.

Exide Life Insurance helps you do the same in ensuring financial security. With its long term plans focusing around protection, savings, and investment, Exide Life Insurance is a perfect beginning in adding a sweet memory to the New Year. To stay insured in uncertain times can sure help me focus more time amidst for long term happiness and I must surely give credit to to Jugadulal who taught me something important;
This is his personal message to you, too!

    If there's one thing I'm sure about, there's definitely no shortcuts to happiness – and money definitely can't buy one either (even if it means lots of lipsticks LOL).

About Munni of all Trades

We remember the day seven years back when were travelling in a Mumbai local trying hard to come up with a name for our blog when struck us; Khushboo was always called a Jack of all Trades. The name stuck (with a slight modification, of course) and Munni was born. Six years, over 100 collaborations, lakhs of readers and several awards later; our love for blogging continues to grow. We continue to write on an eclectic range of topics from the funniest autorickshaw signs that we have spotted in Mumbai to how to bathe an elephant. We are true blue Munni of all Trades and we hope to continue on this joyride with our fellow Munnis and Munnas. Read More
