My neighborhood is becoming pretty!

I have walked past DS school in my neighbourhood a number of times and never bothered to turn around and give it another look. It was a good school which in need for urgent repairs. Unfortunately, lack of funds meant that this could not be done. But last week, as I was walking past the school, I came to a halt. I stood there for a moment, staring and then whipped out my phone to start clicking photographs. The place had transformed!

It had a new paint job and cute little cartoons adorned its walls. The school management had come together and had raised funds through various  events to give the generation next a better future with world class amenities. And they have done a fine job I must say!

Vikram Bawa, who is a fashion photographer has chipped in, too. He is planning to conduct workshops for the children and will be gifting a few photographs to the school to raise funds! Isn’t that wonderful? J

I wish DS school all the best!

Very nice to get kids involved in artwork like this for the community. It will have to be updated time and again though when the colors start getting faded or the walls are getting dirty.

Glad to have new environment for DS school. It's a must for schools to beautify the surroundings and classroom, so that students can study well. Another thing is the education standard and student's equipment.

Sometimes, I hope they will repaint the walls blank every 1-2 years so that everyone get to contribute and change the neighbourhood for a new look every few years! IT WILL BE SO FUN!

It's nice to know that there are people helping a school raise funds for its development. It simply shows how unity can overcome any financial problem 🙂

Love the oceanic part of the wall. 🙂

Providing class amenities to students is a duty of every headmaster, unfortunately some fail to do so. You are lucky the school supplies many commodities such as art paintings on the walls. They are so beautiful and creative, very challenging to the imagination.

We continue to write on an eclectic range of topics from the funniest autorickshaw signs that we have spotted in Mumbai to how to bathe an elephant.
