I remember the first car that my family owned. It was a cute little grey thing and we used to love taking it out on joy rides. I remember how cramped it used to be for all four of us and how cluttered it was with things dumped around randomly. For my dad, it was the first car he had bought, and he was in love with it. Even though we upgraded to better cars over the years, we would often have these long nostalgic conversations about the things we did and the places we visited.
Like my dad, I want my first car to be something special; a car that I can take out for a spin, a car that understands my needs of being stylish and smart, a car that has the best of safety features, a car that is spacious and can fit my boisterous family, a car that entertains me while I am stuck in Mumbai’s terrible traffic and a car that makes heads turn and jaws drop whenever I whizz by.
I think my first car should be this:
Stylish, intuitive and dazzling in a never seen before copper colour, doesn’t she look a tigress in the jungle? The all new Tata Tigor is bold, chic and strong in its frame and yet, so responsive when you drive it. This StyleBack is rearing to enter the market by the end of March and before it does, I want to tell you all about it.
I believe that a picture speaks a thousand words, I am going to run you through my favourite features and then back it up with photographs, too.
Before we do that, meet my Tigor drive team.
Being the 3rd car from Tata Motors that uses the Impact Design philosophy, the Tigor looked magnificent, no matter what you looked at. Have a look at a few close up shots and don’t miss out on checking the wheels!
When it comes to the interiors, I am going to repeat the phrase the marketing guys of Tigor mentioned while giving their presentation. The Tigor forces you to be organized! Oh yes, with 24 utility spaces where you can store everything from loose change to your Starbucks coffee, the Tigor boasts of truly unique interiors.
At 5.1 feet, I am quite short and I don’t think I would be the right person to talk about legroom. But Sumit, who is pretty tall, enjoyed a relaxing nap on our drive back, thanks to superior legroom. Luxurious seats that you can comfortably sink into, dual tone cockpit and customizable air vents add that oomph factor to the interiors.
One thing that I loved about the car is its music system. Put it on full blast when you go on long drives and you will have the time of your life!
Now for the jargon, the really important jargon that you need to know before you place an order for this car.
The Tigor is available in both petrol and diesel variants – Revotron 1.2L (petrol engine) and Revotorq 1.05L (diesel engine). The Revotron 1.2L 3-cylinder petrol engine delivers an optimum power of 85ps and a maximum torque of 114Nm whereas the Revotorq 1.05L diesel engine delivers optimum power of 70ps and a maximum torque of 140Nm. Both engines are available with multi-drive modes – Eco and City.
Tigor’s Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) is designed for a light steering feel and for easy maneuvering. The TIGOR features dual path suspension in front and rear for the perfect balance between a comfortable ride and superior handling.
It is quipped with multiple safety features, the TIGOR has dual front airbags for maximum safety in case of a collision, an energy absorbing body structure, an advance Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Corner Stability Control (CSC) for improved braking efficiency.
Do stay tuned the for second post in the series where I tell you what I did at the StyleBack studio and all about my thrilling drive to Manesar.
That is indeed a beautiful car. I would like to own a car bought by myself someday and it's definitely going to be classy…
Super cool and cute. I like the make and shape of it as well as the color! Great review!
I'm petite too and I think this car would be an excellent choice. It's very cute and stylish!!
that is such a fun-looking little cra for zipping about the City in. I had a car even smaller than that for when I was living in the city (the car was also as old as I was at the time!) but it was perfect for parking in tight spaces and getting around easily. Small cars are great!

The car is nice and I think it is a chic and stylish one, the only thing I would change would be the colour of it. It looks spacious inside.
That looks and sounds like an amazing ride! Love the unique color and style.
