I have returned to Mumbai just three weeks back and I am constantly on the lookout for new cafes. I was bored of the regular cafes and I wanted to explore something new. So, when the Baker’s Table invited me over for a review, I could just not say no! So, last week, I headed to Mazegaon to sample their delicious creations. J
The first thing that I noticed when I entered the Baker’s Table were the cute post-its that they had in their store. They were notes that happy customers had left behind for them. How cool is that? Now, coming to the food; I was definitely impressed by their display and I could not tear off my eyes from their Red velvet cake! Why don’t you have a look?
And let me tell you, it was as delicious as it looks. Now, all the pastries were definitely tempting but I wanted to try something different. So, I went for their Spinach and Corn Panini sandwich. The Baker’s Table make their own bread and it was definitely soft and crumbly. It had the right amount of cheese, which did not overwhelm the spinach and corn. Now, their menu said that it would be served with home chips and salad but it was not available, unfortunately. Also, I wished they had a nice little dip or sauce to go with the sandwich instead of regular ketchup.
I also had the American Coffee Cream and cashew nut biscotti, which were exquisite. I had one tiny little grouse; everything was served on paper plates and I really wished they had good cutlery.
But I guess The Baker’s Table is just starting out and I am sure that they will smoothen out all these tiny problems in some time. I was also chatting with the owner Mr. Kirit who told me that they change their menu every three months. Now, this is really exciting and I would definitely want to visit them again to see what new things they have added to their menu.
My overall rating:
Ambience: 3 ½ stars
Food: 4 stars
Staff: 4 stars
Will I visit again? Yes! To check out their latest offerings J
