Living life to the fullest does not require much. All you need is the will to find happiness in the most uncanny places and once you find your ‘eye of happiness’ (the ability to spot simple things that zest up your life), you will definitely live in a more joyous world. As for me, I am lucky enough to already have it. So have a look at the simple things that zest up my life. J
Soft tufts of hair, tiny little legs, an infectious smile and adorable eyes, puppies and children share a lot in common. They stumble, they run around like there is not tomorrow, then decide to stop suddenly and giggle in their own sweet way, they believe that every insect is their toy and they think that all you are meant to do is play with them. And when you let them loose together, all you will get is a lot of laughter, fun and merriment.
Chocolate vanilla, strawberry, oreo, caramel, chilly (really!), cupckaes come in all shapes sizes and flavours of course. Pop one mini cupcake into your mouth and you will feel the explosion of yumminess into your mouth. I call cupcakes a mouthful of joy!
Long walks in solitude
Leisurely walks in solitude in the morning, when the wind roars into your ears, the cacophony of beautiful birds make you smile and the biting cold makes tea taste like the nectar of Gods. I shove my hands into my deep pockets and amble around freely, soaking in the nature’s essence that nurtures my soul and gives me food for thought. True bliss, isn’t it?
I love trying something new every week. Last week, I ate one whole green chilly with tea. You see I was feeling very cold and one of my friends swore by a traditional remedy that his grandmom apparently followed. One had to take a bite of green chilly and then a sip of tea and continue till both of them got over. This remedy would ensure that you not feel cold for the entire day. Let’s just say that after finishing half a chilly, the fire on my tongue did not extinguish even after I ate a packet of biscuits and drank a gallon of water.
I was angry initially, but later could not help laughing for falling for something so silly. Trying new things definitely zests up my life.
Owning quirky things
I am not your normal shopaholic. I don’t have a fetish for shoes, accessories orbags. But show me a quirky pen, a cute toy or something kitschy and I cannot stop myself from adding it to my shopping cart. And it is these little things that add colour to the woeful and dreary days.
My life is full of zest thanks to simple joys of life. What about you?
