The colour black can mean a lot of things, be it mystery, seduction or elegance. But this colour also symbolizes certain things that you may have never thought about. So, just to put things in a little perspective, I bring you my black wish list for the world.
People believe that when your lustrous black mane starts greying, it symbolizes a lot of things. It means that you are turning older and slower; someone who cannot keep up with the newest generation. When you hair turns white, people start believing that you are useless. You have only a few days left and you are best left in one corner of the room, where you have to be as inconspicuous as possible, quiet as possible.
My wish: I wish that the fading of black should not symbolize the end of a human being’s life. They should live with the same zest and zeal like they did when they were younger.
Black is the colour of my eyes
Black is the colour of my eyes, eyes that can see the wondrous world before it. These eyes can meet new people, they can see glory and despair, express happiness or sorrow and they are the window to my mind. But there are millions of people all over the world who will never be able to see the world around them if people don’t make a conscious decision to donate their eyes after their death.
My wish: I wish that each and every human being takes the pledge to donate their eyes so that it can bring joy to millions all over the world.
Black is the colour of choice
As a citizen of India, I have the right to vote. Right to go to a polling station and get my finger inked in black and choose my candidate. However, a majority of us fail to do so.
My wish: I wish that during elections, each and every voter of this country makes a sound decision and proudly shows off the symbol of power on his or her finger.
Black is the colour of hunger
Have you experienced blackouts and pangs of hunger? I am sure you must have. What do you do then? Simply make a packet of instant noodles or go to the nearest restaurant to satiate your hunger. But there are at least a billion people in the world, who go hungry daily. The light in their eyes eventually dies out. What about animals and plants? Thanks to our rigourous misuse of the environment, the black top soil, which was symbolic of fertility is now disappearing.
My wish: I wish that people make a conscious decision to not waste food and ensure that not a single human, plant or animal dies because lack of nutrition.
Black is the colour of friendship
Every person needs someone in their life, with whom they can share their darkest secrets and their deepest sorrows. Black is the colour of friendship because when you are with your friend, you are not ashamed to admit anything.
My wish: I wish that every person in the world has one confidant with whom he or she can share their darkest, blackest secret.
This is my black wish list for the world.
