Being a girl, people somehow assume that I don’t know cricket and I one of those air heads who adores Mr. Captain Cool or Virat ‘I love to swear’ Kohli just because they look hot. (Not that I have anything against either of them)
In reality, I am a hard core cricket fan who loves to watch matches, live preferably and if I am broke, in High Definition so that I don’t miss any of the action. But what irked me until a few years back was the fact that I had to miss matches if I was interning late in office. I would stare at the screen and pretend to be busy while my heart would be screaming at the minute’s hand, “Y U NO MOVE FASTER?”
Well, not anymore.
Thanks to my knight in shining armour, a digital armour mind you, which comes loaded with amazing videos, tidbits and latest news from the world of cricket, especially IPL i.e. starsports.com I can now watch cricket through on my laptop, on my tab and even on my smartphone.
So now instead of waiting for an SMS to tell me about the latest score, I just visit my favourite website and enjoy the match, while pretending to be busy of course J
The craziest thing this Munni has done to watch cricket is…
Climbed a tree!
Oh yes, during vacations, when we would go to my Nani’s house my Mom would forbid us to watch TV. Yes, even cricket matches. We were not allowed to enter the dining room because the TV was kept there.
My cousins and I, desperate to watch some cricket decided to go to the neighbour’s house, a cranky old man who hated children. (actually only us, because we would ring his doorbell and run away :D)
Anyway, we decided to stand outside his window and watch the match but he spotted us. Muttering something, he pulled the curtains and turned off the TV, much to our dismay. He then went upstairs and switched on his other TV.
Not the ones to give up easily, all of us climbed the nearest tree and merrily watched the match for the entire day. J
