Whenever people used the words ‘rough and grizzly’ to describe me, my heart would swell with pride. After all, it is not easy to grow on today’s shaving- fairness cream using-salon visiting-chocolate boys (they can hardly be called men!)
It wasn’t easy for me live and I have seen my brothers perish. I have seen them drown in a revolting shaving cream and then hacked to death with a shaving blade. But I was a survivor! I had managed to escape it all. I flourished; grew taller and stronger thanks to my two friends, sweat and germs.
I was living happily till she came along.
Initially she used to sing my praises; dirty, stinky and foul were the words she used to describe me. But one day, she gifted the man a Gillette razor and said, “I hate that Smelly Stubble” I was too lost in my latest compliment, “Smelly” (nobody had used it to describe me before!) that I forgot about another word she used, “hate”.
I now regret it. My end is coming near. She has changed him; the man is walking into the bathroom, with a shaving cream and that Gillette razor in hand. As I leave this world, I just pray that my progeny flourish…
It’s time to say good bye…
