Monsoon’s around the corner and the weather has taken the turn for the better. This is the perfect time to host a monsoon dinner party! But the only road block in my way is my non-existent cooking skills. But thanks to Kitchens of India, even an amateur like me can host a wonderful dinner.
I am going to call 8 close friends to my dinner party and am planning to send them an innovative invite. I will courier them a colourful umbrella with a secret message written on the inside. I will stick a post it saying ‘Open Me’. The minute they do, a small invite will fall out if the umbrella inviting them to my ‘Monsoon Bash’.
Funky pyjamas, T shirts and gumboots are going to be my dress code. Who wants to turn up for a cozy dinner party in high heels and short dresses?

I have a beautiful terrace with a terrific view. I am going to light up a small bonfire and place cushions around it so that my guests can laze around and get some warmth. Food would be laid out on a small stools and I would have a kettle constantly brewing some masala chai.
I am going to get my laptop and my speakers out and place them on a table. I would ask all my guests to get their favourite monsoon songs in a pen drive which we could play.

For starters, I will serve Tamarind and date chutney with an assortment of pakodas.
In between the main course and the entree, I am going to host a ‘Rhyme in a minute contest’ where I will ask all my guests to write down any word that comes into their mind and put it in a bowl. Then all of us would pick out the chits and create a poem in a minute using that word. The winner would get an extra scoop of ice cream and a Gourmet Jodhpuri Moong dal Halwa pack!
